Matt @bluebasaur.bsky.social · 25/07/2026Thunder3 would be way more interesting visually if the contrasting side of characters to the comic-shaded ones were done in the polar express/beowulf style and not "we have polygon pictures at home" style that just looks jank most of the time. 000

Matt @bluebasaur.bsky.social · 30/06/2026I do like the vibe the new pv has - ikarashi has helmed some genuinely fantastic episodes for other shows so I think he might actually be a better fit for this material in general than imaishi was tbh 100
Matt @bluebasaur.bsky.social · 30/06/2026It's been a while since I saw it too but I distinctly remember feeling like the back half(ish) *in general* loses almost all the interesting elements it set itself up with and David's demise becomes a foregone conclusion and isn't explored in much of anyinteresting fashion after the timeskip. 100
Matt @bluebasaur.bsky.social · 22/06/2026<I know I'm not interacting with your joke> Nah they have 36 more cuz they're on pace to adapt half of what's out there this 24 ep season with the *about* 1ch/ep pacing they've been going on thus far. They could do single cour seasons once a year for a while if they really wanted to... 100

Matt @bluebasaur.bsky.social · 11/06/2026I downloaded so much stuff once and it's all sitting in a folder with gibberish filenames so going through the audio files it's like a I gonna hear a game OST, get Rick Rolled or "knuck it off knockles" 020
Matt @bluebasaur.bsky.social · 11/06/2026Also need audio posts so we can relive that one or two day period in like 2013 where everything was a thwomp sfx meme 120
Matt @bluebasaur.bsky.social · 09/06/2026Hes very much a bright spot in what is a recently otherwise completely unremarkable studio... I mean, Rakugo Shinjuu was 10yrs ago... So they don't get any recency bias for that one anymore. 010
Matt @bluebasaur.bsky.social · 09/06/2026He's done a few things at Deen recently and his most recent work Shiboyugi with them was a surprise hit for me. It hit all the right (and delightfully different) notes. If he's directing, it's bound to be interesting. But don't take my word for it. blog.sakugabooru.com/2026/04/10/s...blog.sakugabooru.comShiboyugi: Playing Death Games To Put Food On The Table And Souta Ueno's Deranged World - Sakuga BlogSouta Ueno is anime's most radical new voice. With Shiboyugi, influences ranging from French impressionism to arthouse film shape the psychology of one girl 110
Matt @bluebasaur.bsky.social · 09/06/2026I don't go here re:source material but Souta Ueno might be one of the most interesting directors out there rn with regards to his ability to eke out very interesting looking and feeling stuff with very little resources comparative to other studios. 100
Matt @bluebasaur.bsky.social · 15/04/2026I'll send u a link later. Deluxe totally works just fine...they're just adding more stuff to it I think (I haven't checked back in a while but I was playing it last year and it was excellent) 010

Matt @bluebasaur.bsky.social · 14/04/2026I was so tremendously scared when they originally announced the anime that they would screw it up. Only for them to make one of the best anime adaptations period. Folks aren't ready for the next arc. Hell, I'm not if they improve it like they've done for the rest thus far!! 110
Matt @bluebasaur.bsky.social · 14/04/2026I cheated/strayed way more from the anime one's template. Miyazaki gets to be on here twice because he's Miyazaki. Even then this is definitely not perfect but its time for bed so I'll probably redo this another day... 220
