It's important to remember that the AI doom scenario assumes not only that intelligence is a single well-defined thing, but also that intelligence solves literally every single problem, and that in every conflict overwhelming intelligence always wins. This is just not how anything works.

Some unintended consequences I suspect the rise of AI agents will create: 1. Restaurants that only take reservations by hand written letter, or more likely, don't take them at all. 2. Gigs where you can only buy tickets in person. 3. Businesses that operate without websites.

This gets me thinking that we need to really understand dynamics around psychological safety and disagreeing with AI output.. You can't really have humans in the loop/accountable/etc. unless they actually feel empowered to overrule their very powerful but occasionally inaccurate tools.
