Drives me crazy. If you don’t want to fight say so. Stop trying to discourage others from doing the work you’re too jaded to do. You try 50 times and win the 51st. That’s how it works. Progress happens when you find ways to make it matter. And sometimes it’s just your persistence.

Had a really beautiful evening tonight with @workshops4gaza.bsky.social, teaching about media literacy. Was great being in community with a very chatty group of 60 inquisitive students from the US, Canada, India, England and Iran. I debuted an 8-part toolkit I'm developing for reading media:
Eight Tools for Reading Media

The Overton Window (Overton, 1990s)
Hallin’s Spheres (Hallin, 1968, from The Uncensored War)
The Propaganda Model, or the Five Filters of Manufacturing Consent (Chomsky and Herman, 1988)
Manufactured Sympathy (Thrasher, 2023)
“The Male Gaze” (Mulvey, 1975), “double-consciousness” (Emerson, from “The Transendentalist,” 1842 and DuBois, from The Souls of Black Folks, 1897) and “false consciousness” (Engels, 1893)
“Compulsory Sexuality” (Rich, from “Compulsory Sexuality and Lesbian Existence,” 1980)
“Stranger Danger” (Unkmown USA, 1960s)
“The Source Multiplier Effect” (Thrasher, 2024)

Also, do not deny things to the police. If you're denying anything to the police, it means you're talking too much already. "I invoke my fifth amendment rights. I want a lawyer." That is the only thing you should ever say. (And don't just stay silent - you have to actually invoke).

Ummmm. A senior executive at the national nonprofit affordable housing organization, Enterprise Community Partners, really speaking some (Trump) truth to power. 🙃 With “partners” like these… SMDH.
The announcement of DOGE leaves a lot of unanswered questions, leaving economists and analysts to speculate as to which departments could see heavy cuts. Pat Cave, senior vice president of policy at Enterprise Community Partners, suggested that housing agencies are jumping the gun with assumptions.

“I think the assumption that Trump is bad for housing is false” he said.
