I see that @anthropic.com is now competing with PhD students in Biology/Bioengineering labs, whose biggest worry until now was being inevitably scooped by the Feng Zhang and Jennifer Doudna labs. Very different from Wild West days of RT discoveries in my PhD. www.anthropic.com/news/claude-...

Thrilled to announce I'll starting my lab in Biostatistics at Fred Hutch Cancer Center, where we'll fearlessly cross the boundaries of statistical physics, AI, and single-cell biology to study drug resistance, metastasis, and immune exhaustion! Huge thanks to everyone who made this possible.

A cartoonist named Daniel "Des" Rolando Sanchez Estrada was tried as a terrorist and sentenced to 30 years in prison for having anti-Trump comics in his car. Prosecutors connected him to a 2025 anti-ICE protest he didn't even attend because he was in the same book club as others who were.

Shame on NYU Langone for ending gender-affirming care & kicking trans New Yorkers to the curb. It's a violation of their promise to treat all people equally, kindly, and respectfully — and a violation of NYC's human rights law as well. Bending the knee is bad; denying people care is even worse.
