I finally forked up the money to buy an original hardback version of S. Ohno’s infamous 1970 “Evolution by Gene Duplication” it’s wonderful. And I was super surprised and happy to find it had a page torn out of its book review in Science from 1972. 🤩

I never got to meet Woese, but Ford and Pace have been fantastic to me. Regardless of whether people agree with them, they are/were deep thinkers. No shade to anyone of my generation or the next, but I'm not sure who is similarly gifted.
