The ideal authentication is none at all but at this rate everyone will have to log in to everything, it's such a waste.

I do academic access management for living, and a few years ago it looked like the growth of open access meant much less need for federated logins. That's completely changed now, everything is getting hammered by lazy greedy AI bots and sites that had no need for logins now need to keep the bots out

I'm sure there are other reasons but she shouldn't be executed tomorrow because absolutely nobody should be executed tomorrow. I don't care what she did or didn't do. Governments should respect basic human rights and not murder people.

Best part: "'My wallet was stolen and my Italian ID was inside,' she said. With a looming holiday, she contacted the Italian embassy to ask what she needed to do, but to her frustration quickly realised that it would be faster to gain Belgian citizenship than to wait for a remade Italian ID."

Why so many Italians are getting Belgian nationality
Belgium appears to be an easy place for Italians to come and be themselves. Many of those who do, love it and choose to formally become Belgian. But why?

A crowded broadsheet with way too many fonts. It says:

Say it with
Broadsheets
Unlimited fonts
Stretch them
Or cram a really long sentence into one line for no good reason
No whitespace
Mix capital and lowercase
Pointing hands

Don't be left behind
Broadsheets are the future

What *should* be big news is that someone called an anti-terrorism hotline, nobody answered it, and then, it seems, there was a conspiracy to pretend the authorities were already on the case. OTOH I'm on Team Oil Thieves and it looks like we're going to beat Team Doggers and Team Flytippers

God, yeah, whatever could lead you to speculate that they might be fuel thieves?
Text from a Times story on the Fairford incident:

The vans contained barrels and were marked with a fake logo and phone number so they gave the impression, wrongly, of being owned by a legitimate fuel transit company. It sparked speculation about whether the men were fuel thieves.

These threats are not regarded as some far-off or remote contingency: disastrous impacts, for instance on the UK’s food supply, could be expected as soon as 2030, it warns. One person who had seen the whole report described it to the Guardian as “apocalyptic”. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Why is the UK’s suppressed climate national security report significant?
Warnings about the catastrophic effects of vital ecosystems collapsing were not published under previous prime minister
