I hadn't actually watched this clip until now but Kilmeade doesn't say "euthanize" or anything like that. there's no reason to euphemize his language, the man is talking about murder.

I have written and deleted a lot of posts but I keep thinking about how the brutal assassination of Minnesota State senator Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark, and their beloved dog Gilbert in June did not prompt this same level of calls for empathy, sympathy, and flags at half-mast.

That msnbc guy got fired for saying these words
After emphasizing that there were no details of the shooting at that time, Dowd said of Kirk: "He's been one of the most divisive, especially divisive, younger figures in this, who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech aimed at certain groups. And I always go back to, hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions."
"And I think that's the environment we're in.
You can't stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have and then saying these awful words and not expect awful actions to take place. And that's the unfortunate environment we are in."
Following the on-air commentary, a source at the network has told TIME that Dowd is no longer with MSNBC.

Too bad the GOP effectively criminalized studying how information moves online and news orgs laid off and demonized all the reporters who covered the burgeoning online accelerationist performative death cults. All of that work was somehow "censorship" that needed to be stopped. Now we're here.

The real issue isn’t left vs right. It’s not white vs black. It’s not citizen vs immigrant. It’s not gay vs straight. The real issue is that a lot of powerful people have a vested interest — and a lot of money invested — in dividing us, and it’s working.

My dad first signed up for Twitter to follow live sports and he’s a freak about U of I. One day he said to me “Twitter is abuzz about Illini golf,” and I was like dude you only follow Illini sports accounts. And that’s how every reporter feels Charlie Kirk was the most important person in the world.

It’s not that I don’t care, it’s that I remember Uvalde, Sandy Hook, and Annunciation. I remember the photos of their aftermaths and we as a nation did nothing. If we did nothing for the kids, why should we expect more for someone who believed in making life worse for so many?

I have a couple of comments about the "free speech hero" narrative about Charlie Kirk. First, was Charlie Kirk really notable for supporting the free speech of people he disagreed with? I haven't noticed that, though I could have missed it. /1

One professor on the watchlist who 404 Media is granting anonymity for his safety said once he was added to the list, he started receiving anonymous letters in his campus mailbox.
''You're everything wrong with colleges,'
'watch your step, we're watching you' kind of stuff," he said, "One anonymous DM on Twitter had a picture of my house and driveway, which was chilling." His president and provost also received emails attempting to discredit him with "all the allegedly communist and subversive stuff I was up to," he said. "It was all certainly concerning, but compared to colleagues who are people of color and/or women, I feel like the volume was smaller for me. But it was certainly not a great feeling to experience that stuff. That watchlist fucked up careers and ruined lives."

As someone who spent many hours listening to Kirk’s show on AM radio, I would say that he made Rush Limbaugh seem like Walter Cronkite by comparison, in terms of rhetorical tone and empirical rigor. The subtext of every show was “You don’t hate the left enough.”

Really? The hysterical Islamophobia post 9/11 kicked it all off, and the through-line is pretty straight. Trump launched his political career by lying that Barack Obama was not a U.S. Citizen but a Kenyan Muslim. A lot of white people loved it, and a white nationalist movement took off.
