El-Sayed: "I was a junior in HS on 9/11, sitting in my chemistry class. I watched as people started to point to people of my faith & say exactly the kinds of things that Rogers was saying. If that's his entire campaign strategy, you have to imagine how small minded he thinks Michiganders are."

Abdul El-Sayed on Fox News: "I think about MLK. He said this thing I always think about -- 'If your coalition is not uncomfortable, it's not big enough.' A lot of people wonder why I'm having this conversation with you. It's because there are people out there who I want to have a conversation with."

My latest books cartoon for @theguardian.com
Title: Just announced! Three new Gruffalo books commissioned from bestselling authors!

Lee Chilld:
The Gruffalo just wants a quiet life, but when a crime syndicate moves into the deep dark wood, he must use his terrible claws and the terrible teeth in his terrible jaws to protect the fellow.

Sally Rooney:
The Gruffalo moves to contemporary Dublin. He
ill ever see past his orange eyes, purple prickles and poisonous wart.

Kazuo Ishiguro:
After a long absence, the gruffalo returns to the forest and attempts to make sense of his past. Encounters with a mouse, a fox, an owl and a snake uncover long-buried memories, regrets and revelations.

More politicians like Brady. Just aggrieved dudes who want to help protect their cities and don't actually want a ton of power as much as they want to help people and make the place they live not suck.

Pen, watercolor, black & white charcoal pencil.

Another featured piece from the Spooky Pants book.

A man in a sweater stands with his hands on his hips looking out of a large window with the curtains open. Things aren’t looking good outside, reader. A massive winged demon is emerging from the clouds as dozens of little ghosts and bone demons rip through the sky. On the ground below we see townsfolk running through the grass. Our man in the window is in no mood for this. He lets us know, “Oh, I am in no mood for this.” His dog looks out the window as well, wagging its tail.

Fantasia (1940) inspired drawing. I think I could’ve gone a little heavier with the chaos outside but we’ll try again with fresh drawings this October. I like how the clouds turned out. Trying to balance my sloppy lines with more detail can be tricky but I think we achieved a good result.

Suppose you have many copies of an outdated translation of the Bible. Does anyone make bookplates/stickers that give context to the updates? I’d put them in the Bibles in the youth Sunday school room at church if they existed.

Americans trust our government so much that we can't even see it. We just assume there's an ordered backbone to everyday life which will always endure.

My husband uses it very well for certain coding tasks because he’s very good at giving clear instructions, and it’s obvious if the code works or doesn’t, and he can judge the quality of the output.

Sitting with this in contrast to a local situation, where Christian college kids nearby would be willing to volunteer in helping clean up after a local disaster; however, the disaster response org requires volunteers sign a super conservative statement of faith.

Daaaaang. It’s so easy to slap a “Christian” label on something and claim to be “good,” regardless of reality — and people don’t question it! (I mean. You are. I’m calling out the trend.)

The image is of a four panel comic.
In the first panel, we see two stick figures. Text above them labels one as "book smart" and one as "street smart".
In the second panel we zoom out and see the two stick figures in nature next to a tree. There is a sign pointing out of the panel that says "LIFE".
In the third panel we see the street smart stick figure take the hand of the book smart stick figure. The street smart stick figure says "Come, I will guide you".
In the fourth panel we zoom out again and see the two stick figures walking in the direction of the "LIFE" sign. The book smart street figure looks back at the tree as they are walking and says, "I know a lot of facts about that tree".

Totally agree. Tone is lost here. His perspective (or at least what scores him points with his base) is that libs are dumb, hyuk hyuk. And his people can’t tell what’s true or not, and they land at: if they like it it’s true.
