Es war eine Falle, um den Verrat der USA an Ukraine&NATO und die Allianz mit Putin zu legitimieren. Es ist aber auch die größte Chance für Europa, sich jetzt zu einem echten Gegengewicht zu vereinen. Wir sollten uns klar machen, dass die USA nicht mehr auf Seiten der freien und demokratischen Welt steht. Allein das ist Grund genug, dass wir endlich ein vereinigtes Europa schaffen. Nie war der Moment notwendiger, auch wenn es politisch derzeit schwierig erscheint. Es ist unausweichlich.

I work in the financial industry. Decades-old systems are common. They’re not slick but they are very stable, don’t give anyone surprises, and are often more secure than contemporary systems since they are bespoke creations and aren’t full of back doors the developers don’t even know about.

Having worked for both home security and health insurance companies that have tried to “upgrade” from legacy systems I can confirm the end result is typically having to use 2-3+ new systems simultaneously just to do what the old one could do in 1/3 of the time by itself.

Every time I’ve been at a company that upgrades the software I have to use it ends up being a fucking disaster, so I wish they’d end up on the “not broke don’t fix” side of things. It’s been a year since the last big upgrade here and we still have major issues including a lot of downtime.
