There are small segments of a song that you never forget. The Animaniacs’ “Zimbabwe, Djibouti, Botswana” for example. My favorite is when @benmekler.bsky.social sings “Ferra/Tor, Jacqui Briggs, Kotal Khan”. True ear worm shit. It’s always bouncing around in my head.

This is a really great high concept movie. A group of college friends take a wrong turn and end up on a road that doesn't seem to end. Like ever. A really great premise taken to its best possible conclusion. Loved it.

It’s a simple yet haunting work that’s well-shot, written, and acted across the board, especially for a first feature. It also gets better as it goes along, finding surprising resonances that get at something truthful about how it is we find meaning in a bleak world 📽️ theplaylist.net/it-ends-revi...

IT ENDS: Alex Ullom’s existential horror debut about a group of young friends who get trapped on a never-ending road is the discovery of this year’s #SXSW. It marks him as a filmmaker to watch & is a work I still can't stop thinking about 📽️ My final #SXSW2025 review: theplaylist.net/it-ends-revi...

James (Phinehas Yoon), Day (Akira Jackson), Bd Fisher (Noah Toth) stare out from a car into the woods as they find themselves trapped on a never-ending road in a still from writer-director Alex Ullom’s feature debut IT ENDS.

It Ends is the road trip from hell, as Alexander Ullom finds a way to to make something mundane interesting, making a character study of what happens when you are alone with your own thoughts and delivering one hell of a well made movie . #SXSW
