Some friends are teaching their baby ASL as an early bridge to speech and they made the mistake of teaching her “want” as a concept. Now she wanders around the house signing “want” all the time as an expression of unfocused desire. They fucked up and made the baby invent the opposite of Buddhism.

The Blackbird’s Lament, 15cm x 10.5cm, ink on paper. A drawing inspired by a walk at RSPB Titchwell Marsh in Norfolk. My first visit to Norfolk was in May/June this year. I love the dappled light of the woodland with wonderful singing birds.

This video clip of a swan landing on a lake is best enjoyed with AUDIO ON. Mute swans (Cygnus olor) are among the heaviest flying birds & require a long runway, which means we get the majestic approach, a few furious moments of webbed feet slapping on water, then the majestic splashdown.
