It's still outrageously warm for October, but I just can't wait any longer. This is my Christmas/Winter card for 2026! It's of the Duck Pond in my town (Stonebridge Pond in Faversham). Each and every one of these has been printed by me from the block! haggytea.etsy.com
A linocut card of a wintery pond scene in a bright blue ink. There is a Kingfisher and Heron in the foreground and then a frozen pond in the middle ground. In the background are trees and a church spire. The sky has snow falling and a Mute Swan flying over. Next to the card are two reels of twine in turquoise and purple colours.

Come and see my latest Riso Print, Hollowshore, in real life this week at the Goose Studio Riso Exhibition at 1697 Pop up shop (West St, Faversham). Open until Sunday!
Me holding an A3 Riso print of Hollowshore near Faversham Kent. The print shows a boat shed, a creek, a stormy sky and an electricity pylon. The original artwork was made with Indian Ink and the Riso print recreates that in two colours: black and green.

Strawberry Thieves, my new multi-block linoprint. The print is my play on the 'Strawberry Thief' pattern designed by William Morris (a hero!) , but instead of Birds, my Strawberry Thieves are Hedgehogs. There is a funny myth that Hedgehogs carry off Strawberries and eat them!!
A linoprint of two Hedgehogs facing one another with a Strawberry on each of their backs. There is a William Morris-esque pattern around them of Strawberries, flowers and leaves. Next to the print is an old book open on a page about Hedgehogs and a small plate with strawberries on it.

This was taken on one of the hottest days of the year in August. And I know it's still too early to turn our minds to December but I wanted to give you this sneak peek of the making of my Christmas/Winter Card for 2026. People have been buying the finished card already 😱! haggytea.etsy.com

Do I have a thing for Pylons? Yes, I do. Some say Pylons are a blot, but I have to admit I rather like them, marching off across the landscape or prodding dark grey clouds, they can stay. Cyanotype Prints of Pylons in the landscape.

Hollowshore - a place dear to my heart which I've just captured in a Riso Print. It's a spot way out on the marshes where Faversham and Oare Creeks meet and go into the Swale. It's watery and moody and otherworldly and there's a fantastic pub there.

Now that the original linoprint of this design has sold out, I'm going to get cards made of it, but which colour? The original purple or the green, or both? (I think you know why I've chosen these colours!)

You don't need to worry if you've got tickets to the Bayeux Tapestry at the British Museum or not because I've faithfully re-created the only scene you need to see in the medium of Riso Print. The scene is of the only woman named on the Bayeux Tapestry: ÆLFGYVA.
A Riso print interpretation of the scene on the Bayeux Tapestry with the only named woman on it. Printed in Neon pink and Aqua Blue the scene shows a man holding a hooded woman's head standing under an arch with Cat heads on top of the pillars. Above are an undetermined creature and strange duck characters and Latin writing. Below is a small nuddy man posing and a Dragon.

"The house represents what we ourselves would like to be on Earth: permanent, rooted, here for eternity. But a camp represents the true reality of things: we’re just passing through" Remembering Roger Deakin today, 20 years since he died.
Roger Deakin stood in the frame of the backdoor (there was only one door) of Walnut Tree Farm, holding Millie, his favourite cat. Rosemary growing by the door, rambling rose climbing the old house. Roger is in his early 60s in this photo, and doesn't have long to live. He died on August 19th 2006 aged just 63 of a brain tumour. Rest in peace Roger.
