Olds drinking more, which is probably not great news, actually. The paper itself is paywalled, but the report below doesn’t mention one factor I wonder about: mental health and self-medication. Since 2018 we’ve had a pandemic and ghastly politics. Has it driven some (Fox-watchers?) to drink? Maybe?

I found an invitation to appear on Russian radio this morning. It appears to be a legitimate invitation, although there’s not a lot of info about Russian news on the internet these days. Of course, any outlet operating in the country is at least de facto Putin-aligned. Any thoughts/advice?

This is a gestational thought, and I’m not sure how to frame it, but let’s try. In the 70s and 80s, people got excited about beer because of these new little breweries popping up. So cool! Then it became old hat and much of the beer was poor, and excitement faded—for a good decade. (Short 🧵)
