💯 “[Trump] would be liberating them from the drudgery of covering the same staged events and briefings as a legion of other journalists. He is also giving the news media an opening to do away with the antiquated, corrupting and infantilizing rituals of the White House press corps.”

Trump whining bitterly that no one showed up to televise Xi’s visit because he’d banned them from the White House is the ultimate chef’s kiss. “You do not know anyone as stupid as Donald Trump. You just don’t.” (Fran Lebowitz)

Oregonians have voted by mail for almost 30 years. It’s safe, it’s convenient, and it’s trusted. My opponent, Christine Drazan, sponsored a bill to end it, following right in Donald Trump’s footsteps. As long as I’m governor, I will always protect your right to vote.

If Democrats take power in Nov in either chamber, they need to go after racist criminals like Miller. If they can’t do that, they serve no purpose at all.

“However, *if* Roberts were in favor of Trump’s order, he might well follow his previous practice of delaying a final ruling on the substance of a case…. later allowing him to meddle in state elections when it mattered the most—in a presidential election that might decide the future of the court.”

2026 in a nutshell: last night, a US president offered voters $5,000 to vote for his party, and the collective reaction was “But that would be really expensive!” rather than “But that’s a bribe!” We have normalized corruption in the US and it is going to be very hard to abnormalize.

Why do people insist on pretending the Trump administration is not an explicitly racist enterprise meant to reestablish White supremacy? It’s not genteel to say such things out loud, perhaps? Meanwhile, from the South China Morning Post
US President Donald Trump’s White House on Thursday unveiled a website featuring classic arcade games - but with a “Maga” twist, in which players can deport migrants and build a border wall.

Rights groups swiftly criticised the release of the online games, which comes as the Trump administration steps up its mass arrest and deportation programme for undocumented migrants.

One game called Rio Run - an updated version of the game Snake - features a digital version of US border tsar Tom Homan chasing migrants with different skin colours next to the Rio Grande river on the Mexican border.
