2024 analysis is complicated, but I agree looking forward Autocracy doesn't need broad support to survive if it can de-mobilize and de-motivate opposition. In 2026 + 2028 voters need to have faith that dems will fight for them. "Both parties suck" and cynicism will be easier for the GOP to exploit

My prior here is the admin needs to mitigate any tech stock downturn out of political necessity (asset-based economy ftw). So they're getting the worst of both worlds... 1. Increased the likelihood of apid selloff due to higher (perceived) risk 2. Clear flip-flopping when the eventual bailout comes
