This looks like a massive fraud across the industry. I've wasted so many resources on failed antibodies. These companies and executives need to be held accountable. I can't believe the conclusion of "probably nothing will happen". We need an investigation and a class action lawsuit, at minimum.

Scary stories about teens sell. The data tells a different story. After decades studying adolescent mental health, here's what I found: This isn't an anxious generation. It's a resilient one. Let's start treating them that way. go.ted.com/candiceodgers

What we're getting wrong about teens and tech
For years, the warning has been: smartphones are destroying a generation. But developmental psychologist Candice Odgers says that decades of data on teens tells a different story — violence, alcohol u...

Happy gender-ambiguous cavalry hero day to all who celebrate.
Colored sketch of Revolutionary War hero and (probably) intersex bae Casimir Pulaski, looking very dapper with rosy cheeks and a wee little moustache.

New work in JGP from the Barefield Lab! Myosin binding protein H-like (terrible name) and its big brother, myosin binding protein-C have similar C'-terminal regions. Nonsense mutations in C protein are well known to prevent sarcomere incorporation. But what about this relatively unstudied paralog?

Oak Park resident Scott Sakiyama reports feds pointed weapons at him across from an elementary school today. They then arrested him and took him to Broadview. While in custody, he saw agents texting in a group chat called "Chiraq Team 2." Full testimony: www.facebook.com/share/p/1GqB...
This morning masked ICE agents pulled me out of my car at gun-point, threw me in the back of a van and took me to their facility in Broadview. I had been following the van down Harvard honking my horn and blowing a whistle to alert the community that ICE was in the neighborhood.

Just across from Lincoln elementary school, where my daughter is in second grade, they jumped out of their van with guns drawn and threatened to smash my windows.

They removed me from my car and drove me to Broadview.

They tried to determine if I was an American citizen (I am). After sitting handcuffed in the van for about 30 minutes, they issued me a citation for "impeding" them, claiming I cut them off (which is not true). They then drove me back to my car. While in their van, I could see they were receiving text messages that were part of a group chat called "Chiraq Team 2." They also stated they also spoke to someone on their phone saying they were going to meet someone else near where they were dropping me off, and that they were going to proceed to conduct enforcement activities with that person.

A friendly reminder that the NIH Public Access Policy IS NOT “you must publish open access” but rather “you must ensure your copy of your paper is deposited into PubMed Central.” Yes, it is very confusing. Yes, you should be able to do that deposit yourself without paying anything to a journal.

Tailored therapeutics for cardiomyopathies
Nature Reviews Cardiology, Published online: 27 June 2025; doi:10.1038/s41569-025-01183-6Treatment of cardiomyopathies has historically focused on symptom management. In this Review, Elliott and colleagues discuss how elucidation of the complex cellular and molecular pathways has led to the development of novel therapeutic agents that modify or mitigate the effects of causative genetic variants, enabling tailored treatment for cardiomyopathies.
