Two things about this 1. Some of the lack of diversity discourse is unfair to these individuals. There’s no reason to think the JAC wouldn’t have selected a more diverse range of people if they had applied and met the criteria 2. There’s some crackpot antisemitism in some of the replies and quotes

I’ve followed and supported this defamation claim for some time. The offer to compromise makes cogent points on the findings of the BSB and its independent reviewer dismissing the complaint as an obstacle to a defence of truth to defamation, and on the vulnerability of the complainant as a witness

This is the real point. We don’t decide public policy or answer serious questions in public life in this country through the medium of outrage-driven petitions. It’s childish agitprop, and a long distance from the sort of public interest litigation the GLP originally involved itself in

On 17 August Jolyon Maugham was on BBC News and angrily denied that there was a “fundraising ask” on the Good Law Project’s Jason Arday petition page. There is and was no specific crowdfunding appeal, but there was then a yellow “Donate” button on the page. It was silently removed a few hours later

It was public knowledge before last weekend that the Times Higher Education had received a solicitors’ letter about its Arday story and its journalist had been investigated by the police. A mere “THE decided not to run the story” in defending the Good Law Project’s solidarity letter was inadequate

I really deplore this sort of thing. GRKC has, with respect, either not read the published judgment & sentencing remarks or, if he has, has ignored them. For example, it was the defendants' lawyers who sought restrictions against the public knowing about the pre-trial "terrorism connection" ruling.
