An enormous release of methane, highly potent greenhouse gas. Estimated at 130 tonnes, the equivalent in warming impact to the annual emissions from 2,300 cars. The UK's emissions reporting vastly underestimates this sort of venting. Time to take this seriously. 🙏 @drandrewboswell.bsky.social

Exactly. There will be no new normal. The weather will keep becoming more extreme until the world decarbonises. We might have the odd calmer year but the trend will be more extreme. So today’s UK weather is the least extreme we can ever expect. Time to finally WAKE UP.
