To get ahead of the gender discourse: 1. In liberal-ish spaces, it's more common to hear shallow & reactionary dating opinions (w/out pushback) from women than from men. 2. Shallowness in *revealed* preferences is not especially gendered. 3. (1) can be annoying but has very few real consequences.

I keep seeing people say "fascism emerges out of unchecked capitalism/is the logical end state of capitalism" but none of them cares to explain why it gained power first in undercapitalized Italy instead of Britain or the US, far more capitalist countries.

Three optics tubes for the SO-SATs under the sky,
Seven for the SO-LAT-lords in their halls of mirrors,
Nine for S4, doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of L2 where the B-modes lie.
A drone-view of the Simons Observatory site in Chile, with the three Small Aperture Telescopes visible in the foreground as white tubes surrounded by circular screens. They are on a flat area among an othewise barren orange, rocky desert with several shipping containers and a few buildings around them. In the middle of the image is the Large Aperture Telescope building, which looks like a series of imbricated white bricks. There are desertic mountains in the background under a very blue sky.
