why the hell is *fraud* a more prominent campaign issue than the violent and even more costly federal occupation that traumatized the state's largest cities for months

Put another way: In addition to killing people, injuring many others, traumatizing even more, the ICE occupation cost $700 million in economic damage (to the city of Minneapolis alone), which is significantly larger than the amount of accused fraud that the govt used as a pretext for the occupation

Obviously the main problems with the occupation are those of basic humanity, morality, and legality, etc. But the economic impact is ABSOLUTELY worth highlighting, too. It's real bad!

Calling people who "havent seen what we've see" Doubting Thomases is straight up admitting that don't have a worldview based on evidence, and that you don't value those who do. The goal, in any science, is to be a Doubting Thomas. It is in fact the bare minimum.

Begging AI boosters to take one (1) humanities class, part 12,523: "Doubting Thomas" is a person who doesn't take things on faith; who waits until he has evidence to believe. It's only an insult if you're part of a cult, and believe that folks should buy into the hype without evidence, on faith.

this is it right here. they either hope they will wear people down, people will die, or people will give up. it's ridiculous. being sick is in itself full time energy draining work. and once you're on disability, it's not like it's just done, you still have to update them. nothing about it is easy

Even if you forced yourself to work just so you can afford food and shelter, that's all the proof needed to decide you aren't disabled. I also think a lot about my last hearing where an occupation expert used 50 year old data to state I could easily work as an airport concierge or a silver polisher.

The baseline of politics on Disabled people's civil rights and welfare in this country is and has been a mainstream foundational argument that Disabled people are treated so well that the only common sense solution is to treat us badly in order to ward off scammers.

When I was volunteering at the COVID19 vaccine POD in 2021, people would say over and over again that they were getting vaccinated for the people they love. Last year, only 17.5% of American adults got the COVID19 vaccine. Please get one for the people you love. 💕

Also, with all due respect, please spare me on the “that’s lying.” This is not the time. More than 85% of adults fall under any of the risk conditions listed here. OUR taxpayer dollars paid for the research, development, and purchasing of COVID-19 vaccines. Don’t forget that. Go get your vaccines.

Just a heads up. I was able to schedule my COVID vaccine appointment. Online it may ask “do you have a condition that puts you at high risk for severe outcomes from COVID-19 virus.” Click yes and it will allow you to schedule an appointment. No questions asked. No proof required. Pass it on.
