Last year, astrophotgrapher Adam Block pointed a 24" telescope for a very long time at this. And he took a colour H-alpha image of the bow shock around the pulsar! 🤯 This is EXTREMELY NEAT work and I think the first / only colour image of the J0437 bow shock. www.aapod2.com/blog/pulsar-...

There’s a lot of paper in the paperless cockpit. We don’t carry maps and charts any more, but load data, the ATIS, performance data, ATC clearances, and messages from the company are still printed off on a little printer in the centre console. A Low Paper light gets our attention.

It's Friday, here's a plane [from yesterday]. Specifically Alaska 326.

An Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX passes just over a partially eclipsed moon. 2/3rds of the moon is a light orange red, while the lit crescent is off white. The plane passes just above and slightly to the left, mostly in shadow but partially illuminated by the crescent below.

Monet's water lily garden in Giverny is an ever-changing and ever-renewing source of inspiration for me. In this painting, I wanted to capture the feeling of water lilies floating on the surface of a still pond, filled with reflections of the clouds. I applied thick brushstrokes of oil paint laid side by side without layering to capture the sense of movement and texture in the scene.
