Disabled people are forced to regularly “prove” they’re still disabled to maintain the meagre benefits they receive. Mitch McConnell doesn’t even have to prove he’s competent in order to vote & be paid. There’s no transparency. This should enrage you.

What's the #1 sign that someone isn't eating regularly? They get hangry. Eating regularly matters. Sending your body the nutrients it needs in a dependable, regular way supports mental and metabolic health in major ways. When that isn't happening, hunger devolves into a psychological event.

Some people might not be aware, but it is entirely possible that without Dolly Parton we wouldn’t have had a COVID vaccine. She partly funded Moderna’s research and gave the largest individual contribution to make it all happen. Just gives you an idea of the kind of person she was.

As a dietitian, I generally try to stay as far away as possible from unnecessary food restrictions. However, I also eat as little beef as I can because it's SO bad for the environment. Now, there's another good reason to avoid beef whenever possible.

Couldn't agree more. I was shopping at Macy's this weekend. To my dismay, I found that they pump scents in various places, one being the fitting room. I couldn't escape the scent because I needed to use the fitting room. By the time I left, I was coughing & tasting the scent in my mouth. Disgusting

Last week, I hosted my first autoimmune support group, called The Autoimmune Circle. So many critical topics come up: 🔔 The importance of mourning and allowing ourselves to feel sad and upset - but also not letting those emotions dominate for too long.

I know this is the Onion, but in reality most doctors understand absolutely nothing about eating disorders. In fact, they often inadvertently promote them by recommending "weight loss" to fix every medical issue under the sun

Absolutely devastating. Although healthcare is not accessible to way too many Americans (even one is too many), at the same time it feels more important than ever to be an in-network provider (even tho we need a better system) Most of my patients pay $0 to see me, thanks to the Affordable Care Act

There are parts of Brooklyn where the best Jewish style deli food is at halal restaurants owned and operated by Yemeni Muslim immigrants who learned how to make wonderfully authentic brisket, pastrami, and corned beef. It's so perfectly New York and sums up so much of what's great about this city.
