I grew up in the suburbs but now I live in a pretty nice area with a 10 mile bike path running through it. I see so many more kids outside on their bikes and also goofing off by streams than I ever did when I was a teenager. The infrastructure really matters.

I think about how he made the guys cry and I wish it happened to our tech overlords instead. In my opinion part of the critique was about not making art using your own thoughts and feelings. One of the reasons Studio Ghibli is so popular is because every detail is infused with humanity

Awful. Just awful. A promising young man, a high school honors grad who joined JROTC and dreamed of becoming a doctor, killed himself because of the Trump admin’s obsession with hurting Haitians and the humiliating shame of an ICE ankle monitor. His blood is on their hands.

We are a broken nation. Hundreds of thousands of Haitians were living and working legally, paying taxes, and contributing. Haiti remains wholly unsafe. But Trump hates Haitians, and the White House wanted videos of Black people in chains, so they stripped them of status and turned on the cameras.
