I think a shocking number of our major societal problems would vanish overnight if you could magically pull the plug on the X platform and Meta, both of which are carefully designed to turn people into the worst version of themselves.

Just read it. Bessent wrote Warren a letter
DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY
WASHINGTON, D.C.
October 9, 2026
The Honorable Elizabeth Warren
United States Senate
Washington, DC 20510
Dear Senator Warren:
Thave received your October 7 letter, which adds to the mounting body of evidence of your complete paucity of knowledge about financial markets. Rather than take my suggestion of studying introductory economics, you have continued your letter-writing crusade and participation in tabloid fodder about the Treasury Department.
Unfortunately, it is difficult to treat your concerns as sincere. As the federal funds rate climbed from near zero to its highest level in 22 years, with inflation hitting a 40-year high, you were a cheerleader for the Biden Administration's reckless spending. You blamed the economic consequences on the Federal Reserve, rather than your own irresponsible fiscal policies. Your view of the economy depends on who occupies the White House, but your woeful understanding of the issues is consistent.
The "interventions" you describe as "unprecedented" have been underway since May 2024. The buyback program has been well received by market participants in bolstering Treasury liquidity, which reduces market volatility, increases the convenience yield of Treasury securities and ensures the best value for the taxpayer. The continued enhancements optimize Treasury market liquidity in primary and secondary markets. The U.S. Treasury market's liquidity and performance versus global peers is evidence.
While you voted for a $5 trillion tax hike on everyday Americans, the Working Families Tax Cuts continue to deliver for families and workers across the country. The average refund this filing season was over $3,400, an increase of 11 percent over the previous year. More than 30 million workers claimed No Tax on Overtime, more than 7 million claimed No Tax on Tips, and more than 37 million seniors claimed their enhanced deduction. More than 34 million families claimed the permanently enhanced Child Tax Credit, and …These results are made possible by the employees of the Department of the Treasury, who are working around the clock for the American people. Unsurprisingly, you have responded by criticizing their dedication and aptitude for the job in a recent interview.' Despite your malign characterization, the Domestic Finance team you alluded to in your interview is fully staffed relative to historical levels. It is ironic that you have voted against every presidential appointee for a position at Treasury, no matter how impressive the qualifications for the role. Given your newfound interest in Department personnel, I challenge you to reverse course and thoughtfully engage with future nominees and support their confirmation.
Finally, my offer of a Foreign Exchange for Dummies tutorial still stands and if you receive a passing grade on the Yale metric, not the Harvard curve, I would be happy to also include a Fixed Income for Dummies.
Sincerely,
Aver Bout
Happy Indigenous Peoples'
Say in advance to you and your family.

Hello Bone Colleagues,
I have invented a new type of ankle and I'm very excited to show it to you. Early raccoon trials suggest a 60% increase in scurrying speed and dramatic increases in fine motor banditry. I know we are not supposed to create super raccoons, but I think you'll change your mind and professional ethics when you see how cute they are. I believe we are on the cusp of a new era in advanced human scurrying because if medical science has taught me anything, it's that improvements in raccoons correspond 1:1 to improvements in humans.

The morning of 9/11, I was at the Online WSJ, across the street from the WTC. After we heard the first boom, we sent two reporters to go to the scene. I suspect they were the first reporters to cover it. What they saw was something none of them could have imagined. www.wsj.com/articles/SB1...
Jason Anders was standing beside the entrance to the West Street footbridge when the second plane hit. He scribbled notes as the fireball burst from the building almost directly overhead: Explosion. 90th Floor?? Southwest?? He hadn't seen the impact and didn't realize a plane had caused the explosion until some time later. He was also unaware of the immediate danger from falling debris --until he felt something hit at his feet. Pieces of glass tiny a bits, like those from a shattered car windshield bouncing off his shoes and all around him. He retreated back across West Street and turned to see a giant chunk of material, the size of a small car, crash onto the roof of the Marriott Hotel nestled beside the Trade Center towers. Two blocks away, Stacy Forster had been quizzing people about what they'd witnessed when the first plane hit. She'd stepped off the pedestrian bridge that runs over West Street and immediately found herself amid horrifying debris -- glass, luggage, a seat belt, a severed arm. Most people she approached hadn't even acknowledged her questions; they just stared up at the burning tower. Now, suddenly, she was aware of the whining sound of the airliner just overhead. She ducked under the five-foot overhang of a building at Washington and Albany, across from St. Charlie's restaurant, and pressed herself against the marble wall with two other people as glass and pieces of metal crashed down around them.

were raining down,

Oh my god the dietician who is telling everyone in the White House to only eat steak and sauerkraut doesn't wipe his ass.
To O’Mara, the diet is not just a temporary means of losing weight but a way to eat for good. He has been doing it for 10 years, and credits it with turning his life around. At one point in our conversation he pulled up the Bristol Stool Chart, which ranges from Type 1 (“separate, hard pellets”) to Type 7 (“watery, no solid pieces”). O’Mara is consistently delivering Type 4 (“smooth, soft, like a snake”), with pointed ends, indicative of healthy rectal function, he told me. “When you start eating healthy, you don’t need toilet paper,” he claimed. “Animals in the wild have no residual stool on their anus.” He described a proper bowel movement to me this way: odorless, wipe-free, over in three to seven seconds and “nearly orgasmic.”

“I could have a bowel movement behind a sheet at a dinner party in the corner of the room,” he said, “and nobody would know.”
