Baseball has had increasing attendance every year of the current CBA except the one immediately following the last lockout. Instead of maintaining that momentum, the owners plan to lock the players out again. Too much money is coming in, franchise values are growing too fast. Stop the success!

The league-wide strikeout rate has now declined in each of the last four seasons. The strikeout rate either increased or sustained every season from 2005-2020, so this decline is rather welcomed.

There’s an article series using a 2026 player & some franchise stat. For instance, Simpson’s 7.7% strikeout rate is the lowest in franchise history for all qualified batters and first hitter since Brent Abernathy in 2002 to have a K% below 10%
