I am once again nocturnal for a certain Lucasfilm Animation series. I edit online encyclopaedias, like the one called Wookieepedia (Go-Visit-Wookieepedia.org). Aside from that, I would consider myself an individual interested in film keyset images and etc.

Everyone has a right to their opinion, and should be able to share their thoughts and feelings with friends and fellow fans. So glad that fans can connect, exchange ideas (even negative ones), and debate. As long as things don't decide into bullying or toxic mistreatment, this is all healthy.

@infinata.bsky.social I did desire to inquire about the image management and selection process for the DK reference books you've worked on over the years... Since I'm a little bit of an image freak, do you have any prerogative in selecting, renders, unit stills such as in the film keysets and etc?

Re-sharing some other old art because no new art, here's a lowpoly Geonosian Starfighter from Star Wars Episode II I made 3 years ago. I really like the way the curves flow into each other and the unusual paintjob on this guy, it was fun when they introduced ships from very different cultures.
A side view render of a fan-made 3d model of a Nantex-class Geonosian starfighter from Star Wars Episode II. It has two brown rounded and flattish hulls, stacked vertically, tapering to sharp points at the front. The top hull has a bubble cockpit in which a geonosian's head is visible. Anchoring the two hulls together with a gap in between is a laser cannon attached to a ball mount, and an engine assembly.

Apologies to disturb you @jasoncfry.bsky.social, however I simply desired to ask about the status of the Star Wars in 100 Scenes reference book. I read the original edition recently and it was a fun read. Was it a book with any input from the Lucasfilm Story Group or not? Therefore rendering it EU?

@infinata.bsky.social @holocronkeeper.bsky.social Sorry to bother, however I have a small inquiry regarding Maz Kanata, and her species identification. There is a quirk within the Japanese-language version of the DK Visual Dictionary for TROS, where her species is "identified". Is this erroneous?

What does MGLT stand for? We don’t know and we don’t need to know, any more than we need to know what it’s “real” measurement value is. It’s all relative. It’s a textual greeblie.

It’s always been hazy but I personally do not like the term “megalight per hour” since the abbreviation is clearly about sublight travel and the speed measurement was originally presented simply as “MGLT” with the time component implied. It’s like saying KPH as “kilopuhs per hour”

I try not to post about any current projects, so even after it's out I wait a while. But the topic is generic enough. I personally wouldn't want to see MGLT defined because it's supposed to be a relative imaginary unit to get around the inability to plausibly use real units to describe such speeds

Aww, a bit of good from the bad place. Thanks! (And come to Bluesky, jtimsuggs!) Dunno that billions should read the novelization, but five digits wouldn't be taken amiss.... 😉
A Twitter post: "Jason Fry’s Expanded Novelization for The Last Jedi is still one of my favorite novelizations for any Star Wars movie. Honestly might just be tied with Matthew Stover’s iconic novelization for Revenge of the Sith IMO. Took an already beautiful, thematically profound story and somehow found a way to make it arguably even better. Even if you don’t love this film, I can’t recommend this book enough. Absolutely phenomenal writing. Billions must read!"

And a very nice reply: "I hope Jason Fry can come to write a new SW book soon."
