I am once again nocturnal for a certain Lucasfilm Animation series. I edit online encyclopaedias, like the one called Wookieepedia (Go-Visit-Wookieepedia.org). Aside from that, I would consider myself an individual interested in film keyset images and etc.

Everyone has a right to their opinion, and should be able to share their thoughts and feelings with friends and fellow fans. So glad that fans can connect, exchange ideas (even negative ones), and debate. As long as things don't decide into bullying or toxic mistreatment, this is all healthy.

Here you have the YZ-775. It is always a delight to do a Jeff Carlisle ship. One of the largest ships I have for X-Wing Miniatures. It has two pegholes at the same distance as the Gozanti.

Supposedly, some of the Aurebesh on this datapad screen conveys a dimension value of "18.80m. Potentially for the length (my inference), though I do not believe that is completely clear. Was this ever a value supplied to you by anyone? It does differ to the one established in Dawn of the Rebellion.

Another sneaky dimensions question @infinata.bsky.social, if you don't mind. I assume that the Max-7 Rono box freighter's dimensions are indeed derived from the digital ILM CG model for Star Wars: Andor Season One, however, there's a datapad in an episode revealing some data, including dimensions:
The rebel freedom fighter, Taramyn Barcona holding datapad depicting an overlayed diagram (with yellow Aurebesh annotations conveying key data) on schematics of a Max-7 Rono box freighter with its launch rail configuration at the Aldhani Imperial Garrison.

Television still frame from the fourth episode of Star Wars: Andor - Season One, "Aldhani" (1.04).

Transliteration to English (High Galactic) from some of the Aurebesh sentences:

"CONSOLE LAYOUT"

"RONO HAULER"

"Manfacturer: SIENAR
Type: Transport
Dimensions: 18.8m
Cargo: Multi".

Incredible - all of that PGM-CA material just sitting there for future unveiling. Someone is going to have to convince the publishers to do more instalments like with McQuarrie over the years. A tangential question - it seems that one caption denotes the "Beer" beast of burden as "Bear". Mistake?
A caption in The Art of Star Wars: Andor denoting a creature - "beer" beasts.

Seen many pieces and other material in relation to the informational book. Definitely one of the rare BTS releases I'm anticipating. I must ask though @philszostak.bsky.social, do you know how many pieces of artwork that you reviewed for the work? All or a partial selection for Lucasfilm Publishing?

@infinata.bsky.social Deeply appreciated on those stats! I assume the ILM CG model length value applies to both the Rogue One and TROS CG models if I am not in error presuming that? For that model, is the width and height values available to you? Asking because of this chart for a CR90 CG model...
A starship scale comparison chart (comprising untextured CG 3D models corresponding to six vessels) featured on page 136 of The Art of the Mandalorian Season Two art book.

The contrasted vessels from-left-to-right/top-to-bottom are Moff Gideon's Class 546 Arquitens-class command cruiser, an X-wing starfighter, a CR-90 corvette (potentially the untextured CG 3D model of the Tantive IV created during the production of Rogue One), Din Djarin's Razor Crest (an ST-70 M-11 assault ship), an Imperial Gozanti-class freighter in the assault carrier configuration and a YT-1300 light freighter (possibly the untextured CG 3D model of the Millennium Falcon as utilised for the production of the Sequel Trilogy, created for Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens and last appeared prominently in Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker).

@infinata.bsky.social A quick amendment to this thread (apologies for so many more questions than I expected to ask). Do you have the dimension data for the LAL model of the Tantive IV, and if the team at Lucasfilm Animation made a conscious decision to depict it corresponding to the OG miniature?

Appreciated Pablo. Interesting, that's how the name of the trooper type was entered into the Holocron continuity database. I assume in contrast to just ordinary Stormies, the "Imperial" prefix is not present for Stormtroopers.

A follow-up question is why Solo's entry in The Visual Dictionary/The Visual Guide series was titled "The Official Guide", rather than "The Visual Guide" - was it just a tailored naming matter? I wanted to ascertain if there's similar reasoning for the title, "Visual Dictionary" being retired also.

@infinata.bsky.social Apologies to pester - however I have another quick inquiry. In the Solo: A Star Wars Story The Official Guide, 'mudtroopers' are asserted to be, formally referred to as "Imperial swamp troopers". Is the word "Imperial" strictly apart of the proper title for swamp troopers?

Would you say being at Lucasfilm and a part of the Story Group allows you a unique vantage point with selecting imagery for a reference book? Or am I overestimating the input you have in this regard, and this is moreso the arena of Lucasfilm Asset Management?

@infinata.bsky.social I did desire to inquire about the image management and selection process for the DK reference books you've worked on over the years... Since I'm a little bit of an image freak, do you have any prerogative in selecting, renders, unit stills such as in the film keysets and etc?

Re-sharing some other old art because no new art, here's a lowpoly Geonosian Starfighter from Star Wars Episode II I made 3 years ago. I really like the way the curves flow into each other and the unusual paintjob on this guy, it was fun when they introduced ships from very different cultures.
A side view render of a fan-made 3d model of a Nantex-class Geonosian starfighter from Star Wars Episode II. It has two brown rounded and flattish hulls, stacked vertically, tapering to sharp points at the front. The top hull has a bubble cockpit in which a geonosian's head is visible. Anchoring the two hulls together with a gap in between is a laser cannon attached to a ball mount, and an engine assembly.
