Make it even 10% harder to get the insta-kill stun state on enemies and my play style would be incredibly tedious, so that explains the reviews, as I'm having a great time with the story and environments so far.

Anthony Saunders @asaunders.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

Gave Control Resonant a shot despite the mixed reviews & I've got an early game build going where what I'm doing is a lot of fun with the current balance, but would have sucked before the day one patch as the combat loop I'm leveraging just scrapes by and the wins are quite dramatic but consistent.

Anthony Saunders @asaunders.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

You asked on the pod whether people coming into it with the current balance will like it more than you did, and maybe I lucked out with my build, but yes, I am having a blast from moment one and only rarely running into something I find tedious to deal with. I'm only 6-8 hours in but I'm loving it.

Have you tried creatine, that also had a dramatic effect on my baseline anxiety, I can fly with much less trouble now.

Anthony Saunders @asaunders.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

I got into it seriously because it helped my debilitating knee pain, I stuck with it cuz it turns out all those a-holes who say exercise helps depression/anxiety were right in my case. Night and day difference for me when I lift 3 days a week.

It’s pretty reliable! I have some very minor gripes with how it tracks assisted body weight exercises and things like farmer carries (no way to enter something that is X weight for Y time) but obviously it’s been useful for 705 work outs now.

Getting better at cramming in high intensity work into shorter durations when my schedule doesn’t allow for longer.

Had to get the COVID shot and the flu shot at separate pharmacies on separate days cuz CVS has the Novavax version of the COVID vax that doesn’t give me any side effects, but my insurance would only cover the flu at Walgreens.

This PR campaign for Doomsday just reeks of desperation. They know it has to make a bazillion dollars so they make impossible claims like it having a "shocking" ending (yeah I guess if you haven't read the comics!) or it being so "dark"... My dumb ass is likely still gonna see it but sheesh!

010

Anthony Saunders @asaunders.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

So the original plan for All In was the Bucks to win, if you don't know that it was changed due to politicking, that likely changes your perspective on what happened there. There's too much to fit into the character limit but I feel like C&C are skirting close to the line on what they can get away.

010

Anthony Saunders @asaunders.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

No, the point here is that when people show up in AEW and blatantly refuse to be pinned by people who didn't have a WWE run, it affects the booking and drags the product down. It's not tribalism to point out they are making the show worse by acting like this.

110

Anthony Saunders @asaunders.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

If Copeland would let anyone who's not had a run in WWE pin him, ever, this conversation wouldn't be happening. He's been pinned only by Dax, Mox, & Cage. They politicked out of being pinned at All In. It reeks of Miro, Malakai, Lashley... People only don't notice it cuz they like him.

110

Anthony Saunders @asaunders.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

it's been clear from day one that Lashley is not playing ball: he was supposed to go 50/50 with Swerve and bailed on that program when it was time to lose. The MJF/Hurt Syndicate program also died abruptly because they couldn't agree on anything, and now they work opening matches and aren't on tv

I feel like the conventional wisdom has shifted enough on this that there isn’t a contrarian take any more just a “does it work for you?” cuz the letterboxd score distribution is symmetrical but slightly positive (2.8) with more 4’s than 2’s but more 1.5’s than 4.5’s. Awesome soundtrack for sure.

000

Anthony Saunders @asaunders.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

it's also that NJPW devalued the IWPG title in the USA by having it not main event many times, and/or having it be defended against guys who are obviously going to lose. So he won't defend it unless it is the main event, thus not Forbidden Door unless AEW really gives up the top spot.
