Prised possession in the collection.. Kick That Habit LP wrapped in a large screened poster Discovering Voice crack in the late 90s was (not the only, but) a huge revelation. So glad my first viewing of the film was on the big screen with equally big speakers

some things shouldn't need to be explained. you go to the record store and flip through the bins till one of them speaks to you. maybe it's the name. maybe it's the weird picture on the cover. or the lack of one. who the fuck knows. hang on to that one. find a few more. maybe you have a notion of what they sound like, maybe you don't. keep pulling records like this till you think you should put some of them back. stand there indecisive for a minute. shrug and thing eh, I can skip a meal or two. buy em all. take 'em home. play 'em. one is amazing. a couple others are close enough. one of them scares the shit out of you. one of them you don't finish the first side. put them on the shelf. wait five years. the one that scared you, now you tell people it's the best thing you've ever heard and play it for everyone you meet. most of them look at you funny. the record you only listened to one side of and forgot about? you listen to three times a day. repeat this process every week for the next fifty years or so. it's not hard. easier than breathing. you should have figured this out when you were ten and got that first five bucks for mowing your grandfather's yard.

watching an ultra-low/no budget film called The Oregonian and it's not good, but the soundtrack feels like some lost minimal NZ free free noise act. Think Surface of the Earth but even more stripped down.. remove what little dialog it has and it might make for an amazing but way too long music video
