It's pretty funny how, in the discussion of everything AI that's being inflicted on us, the group of folks at fault have weirdly escaped scrutiny, namely software developers.

Again, Neither NAFTA nor China are the reason that union auto jobs are leaving the area. Kyle Bos, the supposed union rep, voted for Trump 3 times. Three!🤷🏿‍♂️ Yes I'm sad that 1,400 truck manufacturing jobs were eliminated. But in California, BYD, a supposed "Chinese company" created 750 union jobs.

AI-detectors are such an annoying scam, not for how many times they've already come up, but knowing that they will exist for the rest of my life, the same way there are people still using magic sticks to find water wells.

Me: “It’s so strange seeing young people romanticize the 90s and 2000s. Like, I see a girl doing Scene makeup when she probably never saw it irl.” Also me: “Man, synthwave is such a great genre and I love neon lights and cassette tapes.” Yeah, just realized this isn’t a new phenomenon and I’m old.

Sort of insane fact about how broken US urban planning is—America now spends more building *just the lights for roads and highways* than on all subways & ground mass transit combined Spending on roadway *pavement* is 18x transit spending

What if the big AI CEOs are actually slowing down because their researchers achieved a functional self-training loop, but it only ended up causing rapid model collapse rather than the purported singularity? What if rather than achieving hyperintelligence, they made a virtual schizoid sociopath?

I know we make jokes about the industrial revolution being the downfall of society, but I honestly do think that LLMs and the AI industry as a whole are going to turn out to be one of the worst developments in human history. Image and video generation particularly are a cultural atomic bomb.

I wonder if these AI transcription device companies have considered the legal implications of handing people eavesdropping devices that could arguably be violating privacy laws in many states. Like, I love the new instant replay feature on the new Apple Watch, but isn’t that technically illegal?

iPhone Duo really does not care about left-handed people. Which is funny, because one of the marketing images shows a left hand holding it. It looks incredibly awkward to use, regardless of hand preference. I think it’s easily the best foldable, by virtue of the UI alone, but that bar is so low.

1. So just to sum up the past year or so. The Trump regime introduced tariffs that impacted gaming. Gaming consoles / hardware saw an increase in prices to pass the costs along to players. The tariffs were then struck down by the supreme court, but partially remain.

2. The tariff refunds go to the company, but are not passed on to you. The cost of hardware has not come down, and if anything it's gone up even more because of the AI driven demand for memory that has led to a shortage and price surge.

We are a broken nation. Hundreds of thousands of Haitians were living and working legally, paying taxes, and contributing. Haiti remains wholly unsafe. But Trump hates Haitians, and the White House wanted videos of Black people in chains, so they stripped them of status and turned on the cameras.

Again: Musk is not a threat to these people. If candidates he backs wins, then the Dems keep their important jobs, status and clout. If they themselves get replaced by more left wing candidates, then that’s it: the jig is up, they lose everything that’s important to them. It’s not more complex.

What it ultimately comes down to is this. One group of candidates are promising change and to serve constituents over donors. The other group finds that unacceptable, to the point they view these progressive candidates as a greater threat than Trump. All that's doing is normalzing fascism.

Apologies for putting this racist and anti-black tweet on your timeline, but it really needs to be stressed what Democratic party leadership are prioritizing and what they are not. It also says a lot about the media landscape that this is fully accepted, but criticism of the establishment isn't.

It's also worth noting that these centrist Democrats have not called out Laura Loomer (Trump's right hand woman) for her comments against progressive Democrat Angie Nixon. Jeffries rushed to defend a Republican bigot like Randy Fine though. It really says a lot about where their priorities are.
