Nimrod! I used my airbrush to make this big boi less intimidating to tackle. After painting the body that way, I used grey wash with some black ink to do the panel lining. I used diluted black ink to panel line the grey bits.

I’ve been commissioned to paint another classic Warboss because the client liked the other I did so much. For those curious, the painting instructions for my dark ork skin recipe are in the Alt-Text! #warhammer #warhammer40k #orks #waaagh #nerdlings

A quick process to do dark and contrasting Ork skin.

1. Over Chaos Black Primer, do a basecoat of Naggaroth Night.

2. Avoiding the darkest recesses and chosen points of shadow, add a coat of Caliban Green.

3. Build up glazes of Warpstone Glow to bring up lit-up areas.

4. Build up more contrast with glazes of Moot Green on areas most exposed to the light source.

5. Finish with a very thin glaze of Yriel Yellow on the areas you want to accentuate the most.
