Really enjoyed organising a workshop on behalf of @hubmetpsych.bsky.social with the Social Health Hub and lived experience experts. We asked attendees to map someone’s social network and then consider how different metabolic and social interventions might impact this network. Great fun to host!

I'm old enough to remember having a reasonable expectation that a Labour government would be better than a Tory one. A Health Secretary who repeatedly implies that chronically under-diagnosed things like ADHD are somehow over-diagnosed, bans trans healthcare & promotes NHS privatisation is not it.

Incredibly powerful and personal article. How often have we rushed to meet last-minute ("rapid") funding calls or squeezed projects into financial year-end deadlines? Time in academic does feel 'manic'. The authors describe so eloquently why this encourages us to disguise failures as learning.

We found that the risk for experiencing mental health conditions was *almost double* in people with autoimmune conditions compared to the general population. Interestingly, this risk remained high after adjusting for relevant factors and was virtually identical for most mental health conditions.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, we found that people with autoimmune conditions were more likely to report lifetime diagnoses of mental health conditions, and also current symptoms of depression or anxiety (measured using screening tools as part of Our Future Health questionnaires).
