I just saw a review that said a historical romance was too “historical”. After I’ve been begging the genre for this for years, this book is automatically on my TBR

Today is my Charlotte Lucas birthday so I can officially say: “I’m 27 years old. I’ve no money and no prospects. I’m already a burden to my parents. And I’m frightened.”

Remembering Chevalière d'Éon for Pride. A transgender woman in the 1700s who was also a spy and who turned double agent, extorted an entire monarchy to get her gender marker changed, and lived her life as a woman in a time when such was thought impossible. We have always been here.

So, I think it's time I begin, in detailed specifics, talking about the mess that is Unbound / Boundless as a book publisher, in essence stealing most of a years royalties from me and many other authors, as a result of poor financial decisions, and legal BS. Please read and share this thread.

If I could offer the returning AUS government one piece of advice: Australians may have bucked the international trend of voting right, but this country needs to be future proofed. We need to enshrine people’s (queer, disabled, Indigenous) rights so a culture war can’t rip them away #auspol

Looking after the house has become a two dog job. On another note: I’m glad my new rescue (the white dog, Stitch) is getting on with the family rescue (the black dog, Jax)

Guys, I love all of you, but the answer to RFK, Jr. is not that autistic adults hold jobs, pay taxes, and get laid, it's that everyone deserves to live even if they can't work, pay taxes, or get laid.

I want to draw more women in armor ✨
A young woman in 15th century inspired black plate armor, looking wistfully and holding a longsword that has a magical golden light emanating from it. Behind her is a rich colorful tapestry with late Medieval motifs that's interwoven with gold thread.

Finally published what I thought would be a "short" piece about what I've recently learned about George IV aka the Prince Regent aka Prinny
Text: George IV by Stella Tillyard, The Regency's ruler was a fashionista and not much else...

Image in the backdrop is a satirical caricature of George IV as a peacock with a sword

We watched Nosferatu and I’m a little annoyed at the need in this and in Coppola’s Dracula to have Dracula/Orlok have some past history with Mina/Ellen because in the original Jonathan goes to his castle, he finds out Jonathan is married, and is like, whee, I’m going to England to have a threesome!

I read Mary Shelley's "The Last Man" last year, a novel set in 2073 about humanity getting wiped out by pandemics. (She wrote it in 1826.) It ends in 2100 with, well, the last man. This administration seems to be taking it out of the realm of science fiction.

The Reformatory by Tananarive Due — 5🌟 I’m calling this one as a Top 10 book of the year. The most harrowing but compelling book I’ve ever read. A reflection on the horrors of the Jim Crow era, the dehumanisation of Black children in the justice system, and how we are complicit in oppression #💙📚

The Stonewall Inn released a response to the National Parks Service removing the word transgender from the park outside of the Inn. A great reminder that we have to look after each other
The Stonewall Inn and The Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative are outraged and appalled by the recent removal of the word 'transgender' from the Stonewall National Monument page on the National Park Service website. This blatant act of erasure not only distorts the truth of our history, but it also dishonors the immense contributions of transgender individuals - especially transgender women of color - who were at the forefront of the Stonewall Riots and the broader fight for LGBTQ+ rights.
