We are 11% of the way to my goal and off to a very strong start, but it's critical that I maintain momentum. 5/31 is coming on quickly, and I'm doing everything I can to build a savings. Please donate if you can, but even resharing helps. Literally anything helps, and I am desperate.

Beta for my novel is almost upon us, so I wanted to ask if anyone has some advice about beta reading best practices. I am completely brand new to this process. Please give me your wisdom, o' experienced authors out there. 🙏📖 #booksky #beta #betareading

We're a few polished chapters away from being in beta, and I am SO jazzed about it. Like, holy crap, we wrote a whole ass novel! 150k in less than a year (though we're gonna shave that down for querying)! Feels so great. 📖

Our beta edit is 40%ish done at approximately 49k words! We are most likely gonna have to shave about 10k off at the end for querying, but we wanna get the first editorial pass done before we start making cuts. We just get so verbose! 😔 📖

Doing a guide for the Discord mess- (As I did on Tumblr!) Discord has added a feature that lets other people "enhance" or "edit" your images with different AI apps. It looks like the image below. Currently, you can't opt out from this at all. But here's few things you can do as a protest.

An image that shows a Discord screenshot, where a digital illustration posted on the desktop site has an icon on the corner. When clicked, it displays four different AI apps, that let you "modify" the image in different ways.

Seriously, creative folks: Don't be afraid to let people know your stuff is out there for them, or worry that "now is not the time for that." People are stressed and freaked out and looking for the things that will give them a moment of rest and joy. It is EXACTLY the time for what we do. Tell them.

My "haha what if?" fantasy is writing generations of characters in the same setting like the Xanth series. God, the continuity! The sheer dopamine hit at the very thought is unrivaled. It'll be the trilogy that never ends, as Piers Anthony intended.

We are born of one breath, one word

Three deer are lined diagonally across the canvas. The first deer is a pale skeleton, the second a dark apparition with coiling smoke flowing from it's body, and the third is a translucent skeleton. The deer are linked by a strange smoke that flows through their eyes, and the tines of their antlers are interlocked. This drawing was inspired by Pneuma by Tool. #Stasanie
