I have 3 freestyle blue ballpoint pen drawings left for sale on my shop! I'm so glad that there has been interest in these! I would love to make another series once they sell out; they're fun and relaxing to work on :> #TraditionalArt #BallpointPen #ArtForSale

The Silver Lizard of Helelot. (Excerpt in Alt) From my book Savage Strangehollow, fourth in the series. This is one of my favourite paintings from the book which you can find here: buff.ly/vek4jkA #dragon #lizard #wyrm #fantasyart #folklore #artbook

Excerpt from the book:
Some areas of Strangehollow are very close to human civilisation. There is a wood, far to the east, right on the outskirts of the great forest, known as Helelot Woods. There is a small tavern nearby which serves the infrequent travellers to the region, hopeful adventurers, most of whom never make the return journey.
Helelot woods is an enchanted place, brimming with wildlife, common fairies lighting up the undergrowth at dusk like tiny lanterns, and a pale, slithering serpent waiting in the boughs of the ancient trees. For those who dare to enter Strangehollow from the east, Helelot Woods is a deceptively simple place to begin.
The tavern owner, Ageon, a man of indiscernable age, displays the glittering skin of this beast at the entrance to the woods. He warns every guest, each questing fool about this loathesome beast, but none listen.
Even the glittering sixty foot long epidermis of the creature displayed outside the tavern fails to deter them.

Description of image: watercolour painting of a pale serpent/lizard sliding out of a large ancient tree in a purply blue light.
There are glowing orbs of light floating in the air, tiny common fairies that live in Strangheollow.

let us lay in the grass, until the sun sets.🧡 ⭐commission of Ali and Atem for @GlitteringLifeblood⭐ #commission #digitalart #art #dnd #dndart #ttrpg

Halfbody complex commission of a dnd fantasy couple-- one has dark skin, tight braids of black and gold, and an undercut. His tattoos are celestial and glow a light gold, leading into a star formation on his chest. He looks fondly at his partner who embraces him, a man with light skin, light gray/blue hair, and pointed ears. He wears a blue long tunic with gold detailing to match, and a gold chestplate. The ground is a warm, earthy green and littered with light gold flowers that sprinkle with light.

Abolish ICE. A little journal comic from South Minneapolis. #iceoutmpls #iceoutcomics #iceoutofmpls

Just before Christmas, I got a puppy.
Her name is Minerva, and we call her *Minnie.

I'm still learning how to understand her.

Me: Do you need to go outside? Do you need to go outside, little baby? Do you need to do a poo?
Do you need to do a widdle piddle?

Minnie: Arf!

*I just call her "little baby" most of the time.

I'm also realizing I can't turn off the baby talk now.
Nobody tells you about that.

I got so lucky with my first puppy.
Her wonderful foster parents had her completely house-trained by the time we adopted her, so taking her outside for potty time has been pretty easy. I've got the puppy poopy routine pretty much down, now.

Me, putting on my coat: Let's see... I got the little poopy bags, puppy treats for bribes, jacket, scarf, phone… I think that's everything… Oh yes! And my passport.

I had been carrying around my passport for a while, but I knew it didn't matter. This is wrong. Nobody is required to carry around their papers.

I became a US citizen when I was seven. Since I was born in a refugee camp, I was stateless.
The US is the only nation where I've ever held citizenship. It's the only passport I've ever had, and it still felt important. Protective.

I would hold it in my pocket like a talisman, like it might ward off ghosts or something. But I realized I was holding onto it basically out of superstition.
ICE will pick up anybody.

I know that.

So I tucked my passport away.

And I largely avoid leaving my house.

I live a few blocks just South of George Floyd Square. I was in the neighborhood for that, too.
And all the neighbors came together to protect each other. We're already organized.
We'll do our best to get through this.

Me, to my dog: I hope I can take you for a walk someday soon. Won't that be nice, little baby?

I stopped using sticker mule absolute ages ago because of the owner’s bullshit. The owner is still on his bullshit, so if you use sticker mule, maybe don’t. StickerAPP is a good alternative, and also there’s most likely a local sticker printer near you (Sticker Ninja in Portland, for example).

in a refreshing change of pace, both bandcamp and games workshop announced this week that they've banned AI to varying extents. these stances are crucial during a time when AI is being rammed down our throats at every turn, and some people are starting to accept it

Bandcamp’s stance is a crucial one as the popularity of AI-generated music, regrettably, explodes. Take, for example, neo-soul artist Sienna Rose, who has three songs in the Spotify top 50 despite not existing. “She,” unfortunately, is just the tip of the iceberg. This does not mean AI has reached a standard of quality such that it’s an acceptable substitute for art made by people with hopes, dreams, and, well, souls; rather, decades of paint-by-numbers pop formulated by the same nine producers and the hyper-commercialization of music by services like Spotify – turning artists’ blood, sweat, and tears into disposable background noise – have primed people to accept watered-down, machine-made gruel. It’s not unlike the way SEO and algorithms turned numerous websites into barely sentient content mills before AI swooped in and finished the job. The powers that be have been trying to build this world for decades. AI was just the missing puzzle piece.

All we can do now is support the people and organizations that prioritize authentic human ingenuity while doing the slow, hard work of constructing something, anything, better than the modern internet – preferably somewhere else.
