As a pallet cleanser may I recommend AMC's 'the terror' season one to those who like good writing? Honestly one of the best written shows, holds up on rewatches EVEN BETTER than the first time, sound design/costuming/set/acting perfect no notes (cgi a little wonky but I forgive them 😌)

#OTD in 1817, Joseph Dalton Hooker was born. One of the great botanists of all time, a friend of Darwin (and also knew Harry Goodsir, because Goodsir is the Kevin Bacon of mid-C19 science). Anyway. Hooker came to prominence following his voyage on James Clark Ross’ Antarctic expedition 🧵
