I like bluesky because it feels so much like tumblr 1. barely works 2. userbase is annoying (affectionate)(not that affectionate) 3. being queer on here feels like I’m actively participating in ruining some tech company’s investment

when i first saw this image in 1997 it was such a surprise due to the circumstances under which it appears, & i thought it was the most beautiful illustration of a man that could possibly exist. so far my mind has not changed!! reimagining w/my interpretive quirks ♥️ #Sephiroth

My velociraptor son I got for my birthday! He's very soft and his name is Bidoo. I gotta source some black minky to sew some extra feathers for him to make him look more accurate 👀 he has several jingle bell kitten collars! #velociraptor

Studying the astronomers of old as I am wont to do when I realized that, having set out in 1845, and Le Verrier's work being published in 1846, absolutely none of the Franklin Expedition boys would have known that Neptune existed 😫 #thefranklinexpedition #amctheterror #theterror

🎀🌸 Spooky Velociraptor 🌸🎀 @spookyvelociraptor.bsky.social · 27/05/2025

Bitsy got a redesign!! Sort of. She now has a lil tail with a furr puff that looks like a strawberry because she's a "strawberry monster!" 🍓 Don't know what that means? Don't, worry, she doesn't either. It's her favorite flavor though! ... Don't think too hard about it, it's fine. :)))

It's exactly 171 years since #FranklinSearch ships HMS Resolute and HMS Intrepid were abandoned in the Arctic by The Odious Edward Belcher. No, I'm not over it.

Image shows a colour plate from George Frederick McDougall's 1857 book The Eventful Voyage of HM Discovery Ship Resolute In The Arctic Regions. McDougall's art shows two beautiful ships being abandoned in the ice. The ships' companies are setting up sails on the sledges that will take them - and what little possessions they were allowed to carry - to Beechey Island.

In the lower left of the image, one of the sailors is pointing a rifle at something we can't see. I'd love to tell you it was Edward Belcher, but sadly he made it back to the UK in one syphilitic piece.

The Odious Edward Belcher. Image shows a horrid old white man with the complexion of a heavy drinker. He is wearing a frogged-out naval uniform and the world's most punchable smirk.
