To be clear NEITHER Michael or spock had a good childhood. They both would perceive the other as being better, or more accepted, or closer to Amanda and sarek, for different reasons because theyre perfect foils as siblings. The original concept that surak was physically a half-vulcan priest 'possessed' by an older mystic, and that this 'half-vulcan vessel brought to life' story is what motivates interest in resurrecting spock in tsfs is literally soo good. I'm mad they scrapped the idea even if it's convoluted

While I think narratively it makes sense for spock to not fit in with his vulcan peers anymore than he fits in with his human peers, the idea that this was because of outright cruelty and racism by most Vulcans has never sat well with me. I think it just doesn't work well narratively.

Anyway if you go by the original 'pon far is for men' idea then I think women with multiple husbands would be normal on vulcan because marriage is a necessity for most men, and not for most women. They'd probably have specific categories of marriages. Food for thought 🤔
