I think the next thing in covers should be slower, sultrier, darker versions of songs that are already slow, sultry and dark. Take a rock band’s token ballad and make in even more dramatic. An apocalyptic “good riddance (time of your life).” “Open Arms” done like a demon having an all-time orgasm.
