I know I’m not supposed to get upset at AI ragebait but I saw this video from Brit +co titled “the 6 best Jane Austen books to read before you watch Daisy Edgar-Jones’ Sense and Sensibility” and a) she only wrote six novels so… wtf b) the first one is “Sense and Sensibility” which I find hilarious

Long story short: I’m an asylum seeker in France now. I don’t know how long this process will take, but for I still can’t officially work here. So I’m looking for any opportunity to earn money to be able to pay for rent and food. Please, read and share this post ❤️‍🩹 ko-fi.com/illustory

WE NEED HELP
Please, read and share this!
(text version of the pics above)
We are a group of queer artists, and we are in big trouble.
In April 2025, we immigrated to France, seeking a safe place to live and make art.
Our humanitarian visas expired a year ago.
Since then, we have been trying to get legal status in France.
To be able to work, open a bank account, get health insurance and just have some basic human rights.
We spent a whole year fighting for our lives against Strasbourg Prefecture and we lost.

All this time we couldn't properly work, so we were burning our savings.
In August, all three of us were denied a residence permit.
According to the Prefecture, the only option for us To stay legally in France is to become asylum seekers.
About a week ago, we sent out our applications for the asylum.
Now we are looking at another indefinite stretch of time, before we are summoned to Paris for interviews.
It might be two months, three months, half of a year or even more... no one knows for sure.

We had planned for a year without documents max, and now it's been a year and a half already.
No matter how hard we tried to stretch our savings, they have run out.
Currently, we don't have enough money to pay for rent and food in November.
It's hard for me to admit that, but we are in huge trouble, with all our hopes and plans ruined by the French bureaucracy.
We really need your help and every little bit matters, so I came up with some options for how you can support us.

Just also want to note that trans people and advocates for the unhoused have told people for years that Gavin Newsom is trash. If this is what makes people realize how awful he is, great, but I really hope this is also a wake-up call to listen the first time someone tells you who they really are.

I love living in a country where my health insurance just decides the entire hospital system I went to because they sent me there is no longer in network and that it’s acceptable for this to happen once a year. Anyway fuck you, Anthem Blue Cross.

Coyote vs. Acme was fantastic, and I am glad that we live in the timeline where good art was eventually allowed to triumph. I know that David Zaslav will never feel an ounce of shame, but I hope he at least feels the sting of millions he didn't get to make as the movie racks up sales.

Summary:
Jackie’s always thinking about what makes someone a good husband. You never know when you might need a new one (they’ve been dying a lot lately). She even keeps a pros/cons list on the subject. Here’s an excerpt from her journal.

Hello everyone here is 19.8k of only one bed for you Just how will two 6ft men (who have been crushing on each other for months) share a tiny single bed..... archiveofourown.org/works/89301851 enjoy ❤️🛏️

For one night, Ed could deal a single bed, even if it might be a bit uncomfortable.

But he isn’t alone.

Stede is with him. All 6ft of broad shoulders and delicious biceps and biteable calves of him.

And they are going to have to share a very tiny single bed.
