If zionists wanted the historical memory of October 7th to solely or primarily center the victims of the massacre, then the state of Israel should not have also started a genocide on the same day. it's ahistorical to remember one part of that day and forget the other.

It's also the anniversary of Israel's war of annihilation. The bombardment of Gaza began on the 7th. And the oppression of Palestinians began well before that.

It is not reasonable to debate whether people have the right to "attend Zionist synagogues". A supermajority of Jewish people in the world cannot help but engage with /some/ aspect of Zionist politics, regardless of whether they are that themselves. This can make you unhappy but it is fact.

The "Zionism is racism" motion, to be debated at the Green Party conference tomorrow, will not advance the Palestinian cause one inch. But, if adopted, it would marginalise and discredit the party. There are powerful ways to confront the genocide. Toxic gesture politics isn't one of them.
