Seems like a capitulation to politics by public health. Sometimes, withholding the name of a producer or restaurant is necessary for cooperation and does not endanger consumers, but I am not able to see that here

The press did not help or distinguish itself about the #hantavirus outbreak. Let's hope they learned a lesson and do better on the much more consequential #ebola outbreak in DRC/Sudan/Uganda. Highly consequential in the region, but not likely to be very consequential here in the US.

This is chilling evidence of why controlling #ebola Bundibugjo in the region will be difficult and dangerous. Add to that the lack of an approved effective vaccine or treatment and the absence of US support to DRC through USAID WHO, and it is clear that this will be a long and difficult road

Ituri province borders Uganda, farther east and north than where many outbreaks of Ebola Zaire have occured, although Kivu was the site of a large outbreak. Will this be Ebola Zaire or Ebola Sudan or a new species? Vaccines and therapeutics mostly target Ebola Zaire

While the world watches the #hantavirus outbreak, which is likely to be contained if perhaps not over yet, another large Ebola outbreak in DRC is flying under the radar. DRC has a lot of experience containing these, but in a normal world, USAID and CDC would be standing by to help as needed.
