Latest sewing project: I ordered a sick Ben Davis workwesr crewneck off eBay (I grew up in the Bay Area) but turns out the "XL" was sized for a different market and thus far too small for me. So... I turned it into a crop for my wife. Happy with the results and jealous it was never gonna fit me.

Film tax credits are a band-aid solution that will fail without a follow-up plan. Just ask Michigan, Louisiana and Georgia how the one-step plan worked out for them. Producing studios will always seek the cheaper market while you race to the bottom with subsidies. Also, this is embarrassing.

Cosign a lot of this, especially the lighting compromises made from adding 2nd and 3rd cameras before lighting the shot. Traditionally, block the scene, set the lens, light the shot, THEN add additional cameras AS NEEDED. Now the common expectation is to add a 2nd and 3rd lens from the jump.

I rewatched Reno 911! on Prime Video and it's really wild how random episodes will be unnecessarily cropped into 16x9 ratio from the original 4:3. All of season 1 = Cropped. Then season 2 is like one in every 3 is cropped while the others are in native 4:3. Who made this decision?

Unfortunate to discover that the California MyFirstEV program is fully dependant on manufacturers and dealerships opting in. Abolish dealerships. Forget making this a dealer rebate. Make it a tax deduction or independent rebate. It's paid for by CA tax dollars so why are we beholden to dealers?
