More context on this #Artemis II image: * This is the night side, lit by moonlight. You can see city lights in Spain & Portugal, & a sliver of day at lower right * The Sun is entirely behind Earth, which makes it a kind of solar eclipse, but w/ Earth doing the eclipsing instead of the Moon: ☀️🌍🚀🌕
A full disc image of Earth, as seen from the Orion Crew Module. The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light. At lower left, a large brown landmass is Africa, with Spain and Portugal with twinkling lights where the planet curves. At top right, auroras glow in a thin green glow, just barely separated from the planet's surface. Earth is set against the black of space (pic: NASA/R.Wiseman)

Here's Judge Leon's exclamatory opinion and order blocking Pete Hegseth and the Department of Defense from retaliating against retired Navy captain Sen. Mark Kelly for exercising his First Amendment freedoms. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us... storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
MEMORANDUM OPINION February 11. , 2026 [Dkt. #2] United States Senator Mark Kelly, a retired naval officer, has been censured by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth for voicing certain opinions on military actions and policy. In addition, he has been subjected to proceedings to possibly reduce his retirement rank and pay and threatened with criminal prosecution if he continues to speak out on these issues. Secretary Hegseth relies on the well-established doctrine that military servicemembers enjoy less vigorous First Amendment protections given the fundamental obligation for obedience and discipline in the armed forces. Unfortunately for Secretary Hegseth, no court has ever extended those principles to retired servicemembers, much less a retired servicemember serving in Congress and exercising oversight responsibility over the military. This Court will not be the first to do so! Worse still, Secretary Hegseth contends that this Court is not yet competent to decide the issues in this case. He and his fellow Defendants argue that military personnel decisions are exempt from judicial review and, in any event, that Senator Kelly should first be required to go through the military appeals process so the military can have the first crack at adjudicating his First Amendment rights. I disagree. This Court has all it needs to conclude that Defendants have trampled on Senator Kelly's First Amendment freedoms and threatened the constitutional liberties of millions of military retirees. After all, as Bob Constitution demands they receive it! I. Dylan famously said, "You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows."1 To say the least, our retired veterans deserve more respect from their Government, and our Senator Kelly's First Amendment claim is not only justiciable; he is likely to succeed on the merits. He has also shown irreparable harm, and the balance of the equities fall decidedly in his favor. As such, his motion for a preliminary injunction on his First Amendment claim is hereby GRANTED. ORDER February ~ Civil Case No. 26-81 (RJL) 2026 [Dkt. #2] For the reasons set forth in the accompanying Memorandum Opinion, it is hereby ORDERED that Plaintiff Mark Kelly's [Dkt. #2] Motion for Preliminary Injunction and Stay under 5 U.S.C. § 705 is GRANTED in part; and it is further ORDERED that Defendants and their agents are preliminarily ENJOINED from implementing, enforcing, or otherwise giving effect to the Secretarial Letter of Censure dated January 5, 2026 and addressed to Plaintiff ("the Letter"); and it is further ORDERED that Defendants and their agents are preliminarily ENJOINED from implementing, enforcing, or otherwise giving effect to the Department of Navy's Notification of Retirement Grade Determination Proceedings dated January 5, 2026 and addressed to Plaintiff ("the Notification"); and it is further ORDERED that Defendants; Defendants' officers, agents, servants, employees, and attorneys; and all other persons in active concert with Defendants are preliminarily ENJOINED from: (1) taking any other action in reliance on the findings, determinations, or threats of additional criminal or administrative action contained in the Letter; (2) taking any steps to place the Letter in Plaintiff's file; (3) relying on the Letter, or on the findings or determinations made therein, in any military, agency, or criminal proceeding; ( 4) taking any steps to revisit Plaintiff's grade determination; and (5) adjusting Plaintiff's grade pursuant to the Letter or Notification; and it is further ORDERED that the parties shall file a joint status report within 30 days proposing further proceedings in this case. SO ORDERED. ~ EON United States District Judge

So she had a pulse. That’s what the doctor on the scene wanted to check. She wasn’t breathing, but she had a pulse. He could have started CPR right away. Instead ICE barred the doctor from attending her and waited 15 mins for EMT to get to her.

ICE agents eat at small-town Mexican restaurant — then arrest workers
Federal agents detained three workers from a family-owned Mexican restaurant in Willmar yesterday, hours after four agents ate lunch there.

It was not immediately clear what the immigration status of those detained was, or whether the people detained included the restaurant’s owners or only workers.

An eyewitness who declined to give a name for fear of retribution, told the Minnesota Star Tribune that four ICE agents sat in a booth for a meal at El Tapatio a little before 3 p.m. Staff at the restaurant were frightened, said the eyewitness, who shared pictures from the restaurant as well as video of the arrest.

The arrest happened around 8:30 p.m. near a Lutheran church and Willmar Middle School as agents followed the workers after they closed up for the night. A handful of bystanders blew whistles and shouted at agents as they detained the people. “Would your mama be proud of you right now?” one of the bystanders asked.

ICE officers slipping on ice while trying to terrorize communities is the most accurate metaphor imaginable. No balance. No footing. No moral ground. Just cruelty, incompetence, and gravity doing its thing.
