Working on a monthly comic really sobers you as to how little comics pay. It takes up 3/4 of my work time but pays only half of what I need to survive. Syndicated cartoonists must have made REALLY good money back in the day to live on decades-long DAILY runs.

I am freed of my civic duty. Verdict reached, what seemed cut and dried at first turned out to be messy but we got there. My fellow jurors were pretty cool. No fighting, everyone talked and listened and all our moral compasses were pointed the same way.

Jury duty still ongoing, now deliberating. As much of a colossal pain it is to be losing valuable work time like this, it HAS been fascinating and interesting to be a part of. Aside from the obvious civic duty part, everyone should do this at least once.
