@mayor.nyc.gov you met @micheal-martin.bsky.social the other day. Did you know that he has denied children Covid boosters for the last four years. There are no ventilation systems in our schools. 4th highest rate for asthma in the world and he decided AGAINST putting HEPA filters in classrooms.

The gap between medicine and science was cruelly exposed in the Covid-19 pandemic. The former is supposed to be based on the latter but infection prevention control were locked into a wrong interpretation of transmission that ultimately led to greater suffering and more deaths. The Inquiry recognised that reporting of HCW deaths under the RIDDOR Regulations for reporting occupational disease should be better. Sadly it didn't address the failure to report occupational infections which don’t cause deaths but leave HCWs crippled with Long-COVID. /End
