On Tuesday (Sept 1st) the Sunday Business Post online edition ran an op-ed supplied by the Minister of State for European Affairs and Defence, Thomas Byrne TD. As he says, in a Tweet/X post, he uses the article (paywall) to share his thoughts on why the Irish Triple Lock is no longer fit for purpose. I wrote an article responding to his flawed assertions. The Business Post opted not to run either the Minister’s article, nor my response, in this Sunday’s edition (Sept 6th). Here is what I wrote:
