Definitely not happy the merger got approved, but I’m not gonna bow my head in despair. I’m still fighting for a brighter future for filmmaking no matter what and I know this merger will only hurt Ellison in the long run. No matter what, I’m still holding strong for good movies.

There are no good mergers. Everyone except the people on top get screwed over by them.

Ooh, this should be interesting. Granted, the rating doesn't matter as much as following up on the themes and maintaining the heart that made Minus One a masterpiece. Regardless, I'm still hyped to see this!

With the times we're facing, I realize how much we need films like Coyote vs Acme. Not just because it's a good comedy bringing us laughs when we really need them, but because it reminds us to keep fighting no matter how how hopeless things seem!

Short but important thread that anyone still in panic mode should probably read. TL;DR: Northern California judge still has to approve this. And if nothing else, Paramount and WB will at least operate separately for 5 years. (plenty of time for things to fall apart)

Rare face reveal, but one of the highlights of my New York trip was getting to see one of my favorite musicals ever live for the first time, and it was an amazing experience. I got to see it with one of my best friends @amhaas.bsky.social on Friday.

We really need more straight up comedies in theaters. Laughing at home isn't the same as laughing with a crowd.

Solvable but requires a studio to not be frozen by analysis paralysis. 1) 20 episodes per greenlight. 2) Greenlight a new season based on gut belief in it, not based on waiting until numbers come in. This was TV for decades. Movies you can wait around for numbers, TV you can't. They're different.

Coyote vs. ACME was an absolutely fantastic movie, but the one major complaint I have about it is that cel shaded 3D Looney Tunes looked pretty weird and wonky. So I thought, “What would the movie look like if the characters were 2D while still living in the live-action world?”

One thing that I'm glad about from this decade is that a couple of animated projects were initally scrapped by the studios but eventually saved and released to great success. Both Nimona and Coyote Vs. Acme proves that stupid execs and corporations really can't kill great art.

Go see Coyote vs. Acme! It's a damn good movie worth your time! After nearly three years advocating hard for its release when it was nearly buried by dumb executives, it's now time we put our money where our mouths are and have the box office prove WB and Zaslav wrong! #coyotevsacme #LooneyTunes

“Be Strong enough to be gentle.” Peter Cullen tells the story of how his brother inspired the voice he would use to play Optimus Prime. It’s a simple yet poignant quote that sums up why Optimus and Peter are so beloved. Til All Are One. 💔

We need serious regulations around this shit. The rules are constantly shifting for anyone trying to making a creative living. Algorithm regulations, pay outs, terms, there is so much that just needs a basic kick the tires set of update laws.

FFS, Paramount! 🤬 If you have enough faith in the film to push for award season qualifications, why not go bigger with more theaters across the country? Fans want the experience, damnit!

Kids need/deserve traumatic films. Films that show death or lasting consequences that aren't resolved almost instantly. Fear, anger, grief and frustration should be part of kids movies. Kids arent stupid, they feel big emotions just like adults, they deserve to see those experiences reflected back.

I've said this before but if a library went and dedicated an area to just renting movies, and remodeled the entire area to look like an old blockbuster, and used old movie racks, and sold snacks as well, they'd make such a fucking killing. it'd catch on like a wildfire

For the record, a big reason why all these AI companies are making all these deals with like, every major company, studio, business, software program, etc is because they're all in a fuck ton of debt. Like, Joe Exotic levels of debt where they're not making any money at all with their AI tech.

I hate the idea that some live action filmmakers need to rely on AI for storyboarding when I like, really really love storyboarding and that’s one of my favorite parts of the creative process. It makes no sense. More people working in live action really should get their start in animation.
