The tension and upset felt as luxury goods and leisure pursuits go up and up in prices isn't going to let off - it's only going to get worse if we don't see wages increase in other sectors too. Wage stagnation clashing with the realities of inflation is a crack in a very fucked system.

something i'm grateful for is that in my early 20s i got the nostalgia equivalent of alcohol poisoning and got sick and tired of how it made me feel. it's part of why i so staunchly avoid experiences that are primarily distractions to remove me from my life, even in my hobbies like retro games/film

I’ve always held there’s a reason Hollywood had a J-Horror boom, and the movie was the nexus of that. You can really tell that more than adapting, Verbinski and co. were /inspired/ by Ring, and used it as a template for something horrifying and beautiful. To this day one of my favourite films
