Did you know that producing one pound of beef is 25-50x worse for climate change than burning a pound of coal? In fact, it’s one of the most polluting things we can consume. And grass-fed beef is usually *even worse* — thanks to its much higher land use and methane emissions.

Excellent article. There really is no getting around that global beef production needs to decrease (both overall and per-capita), and while regenerative grazing is better than not doing that, most of its benefit is from reducing that production, not making current production somehow sustainable.

Don’t support this toxic industry! Huon Aquaculture, owned by the Brazilian meat company JBS, used 1126 underwater explosives against seals in the first half of 2026. Tassal is also complicit, increasing their use of explosives. Seals no doubt drawn to the smell of rotting fish flesh

If we don’t alter our consumption habits, companies won’t change. If we don’t build public pressure, politics won’t change. Companies are supplying animal products because people are buying them. There is not the slightest doubt in the good that can be done 3 times a day to help stop climate change

Who remembers? The Libs backflipped on the CPRS when Abbott became opp. leader & voted no. Though the Greens now cop the blame for it not passing, in fact they secured a better deal with the Gillard Govt. With Greens support, they legislated a price on carbon and other emissions reduction measures.

One action that is part of the solution and is rapid without technical or financial barriers is going vegan. Animal ag is approx 18% of the problem and must be stopped if we are going to curb CC. However people lack the will to go vegan even as they talk about climate action. We must get serious.
